Methodology for International Cooperation for Training of Human Resources towards Primary Health Care in Guyana

ABSTRACT
Objective: To propose a methodology to strengthen the training of human resources for Primary Health Care in Guyana through international cooperation, based on the conceptual model of health and taking into account a set of actions required from the undergraduate and once they are medical graduates, they should update, complement and / or deepen the knowledge and skills for an adequate performance at this level of health care.
Methods: It was conducted a qualitative research with a literature review, expert in-depth interviews and focus groups to Guyanese students majored in medicine.
Results: We developed a methodology for international cooperation aimed to ensure human resources with high scientific standards for primary health care.
Conclusions: The study, analysis and implementation of the different elements included therein showed they are imperative in different stages or phases of this screening, including evaluation, thus ensuring its further development and expansion of cooperation.
