ABSTRACT

The term pain, derived from Latin -oris- defines two different concepts. First refers to an «uncomfortable feeling from a body part», that means, it is about physical pain. Secondly, can also express a sense of grief and sorrow, and the «sorrow and regret for having done or omitted one thing», so that it becomes into an affliction or internal suffering. Pain is one of the most fruitful themes since the human being, artist or not, at some point in their life has gotten to known the pain close or far away, an if he is an artist, undoubtedly affect his work as in a personal explanation or as another reason for his ability to explain any pain experienced. Therefore we must ask ourselves. What is the human pain? Human beings integrate pain as a biological experience where psychological and social spheres are added to integrate the idea of pain as a lost of wellbeing. Is body and soul pain the same? The objective is to show the artistic expression of pain through the paintings, as a perception of the man who suferss it.
