ABSTRACT
Spinal cord injury is the damage to whichever part of the spinal cord
resulting in permanent or temporary changes of the motor, sensitive or
autonomic function below the injury. Among the most frequent complications
(and with increased morbidity and mortality) is kidney failure,
both chronic and acute; however, there is little scientific evidence about
the pathogenesis of acute kidney injury in these patients.
