ABSTRACT
The aging or normal process of changes related to the passage of time, begins with the birth and continues throughout life; elderly is the final phase of life. It was performed a descriptive study in the Elderly House Jose Reyes Arencibia located in the north popular council of Jiguani municipality in Granma Province. There were taken 20 elders from a universe of 25 with the objective to describe the actions that increase the quality of life of our elderly population through actions developed all over the country and particularly in our health system. There were valued some variables like: age, sex, family description, needs for help, necessities and actions. For the development of this work it was applied a survey taking 20 elders at random from a universe of 25 what represented the 80%. The main results were the following: 20 elders (100%) referred that the actions that have high quality of life are the elderly houses where a strict nursery follow up is performed to them, for example: the checking of vital signs, coordination with INDER to carry out strict control of compliance with diet and physical exercises, coordination of geriatric and nutrition consultations. Other actions which have been taken at the national level by the government and which were also considered by elders were the currency pensions, 18 to 90%. They are needed indeed to face and live life, 14 to 70% are also necessary to educate children and do the errands, 12 elders for 60%.REFERENCES
