ABSTRACT
Hemangiopericytoma is a rare tumor with malignant potential. About 1,000 cases have been reported in the literature up to date. The presentation in the nose and paranasal sinuses is extremely rare. We report the case of male patient 55 years old, who has been sent to our Service after 4-month history of recurrent bleeding nose and obstruction of right cavity is presented. On physical exam we found tumor in right cavity dependent of head middle turbinate which contacted the nasal septum. In the radiographic study it is observed soft tissue isodense partially occupying the right cavity without bone erosion or soft tissue infiltration. Was handled via transnasal surgery endoscopically, making complete tumor cleavage with intraoperative bleeding of 750 mL, which required anterior and right posterior packaging. The histopathological study reported loss of 2 by 3 cm, rounded, soft with rich vascular network, arbores with flattened endothelial cells, immunohistochemical techniques showed immunoexpression of vimentin and actin, CD34 limited only to the endothelium. The treatment of choice is surgical removal with clinical monitoring and tomography for several years because of the high recurrence and degree of malignancy.REFERENCES
