ABSTRACT
Introduction: Asthma is a cronic infl amatory disease of airways which cells, cellulary elements play
an important action. (GINA). Thera are associated risk factors with the increased asthma that rises
morbidity, mortality, school absent of pediatric patient.
New guidelines recomend the portable peak flowmeter for measure the peak expiratory flow.
Is an accesible and useful tool for evaluate pulmonary function in asthmatic patients in ambulatory way.
Objective: Improve the conditions of the asthmatic patient and demonstrate that the measurement of
expiratory peak flow by the peak flow meter reduces the urgencies visits, school absent and mantain a
good disease control.
Results: The peak flowmeter is an useful tool in ambulatory evaluation of pediatric astha patient
because of the agreement between spirometry (gold standard) and peak expiratory flowmeter
Conclusion: It's necessary treat and control asthma by an repoducible and objective way. Using
portable tolos in school, home, physician office. The peak flowmeter its the most reliable tool for evaluate
the in an ambulatory way patient with asthma.
