ABSTRACT
For a health institution, the human element is paramount, is a competitive advantage and intangible active. Currently, the nurse must have an internal dynamic role, assumed and personified by the leader. The objective of this manuscript is to review the literature on leadership styles in service chiefs. The leadership is associated with the effectiveness, this is a must for the power and performance of any organization. There are four important dimensions in the definition of leadership: addressing the qualities of the leader, the unequal distribution of power, and includes the ability to use different forms of authority to influence his followers are also considered values for the followers to make decisions intelligent and sensible when it comes time to be a leader and have to delegate tasks.REFERENCES
