ABSTRACT
The Republic of Guatemala has insufficient health human resources and shows a lack of planning and coordination between the training institutions and the health authority. There is also little adequacy of the trained resources to the need of the services. The comprehensive health program that is being developed through the Cuban mission becomes a process of health care, teaching and research aimed at professionalizing the practice of interns and the academic training of doctors. In it, the tutor, a Cuban specialist in General Comprehensive Medicine, is a central figure. Once the doctors get their medical degree, it is established as a principle that they must start working in the region where they come from, or in the most neglected areas, as it will lead to the improvement of the country's health indicators.REFERENCES
