ABSTRACT
Introduction: It is estimated that the infection by Helicobacter pylori (HP) affects about 50% of the world’s population,
remain underdeveloped and developing countries in which there is an increased risk of infection from early stages of life.
In adults and children are available non-invasive diagnostic methods, for clinical and epidemiological studies in children.
Material and Methods: We included for the study a sample of 22 patients, from March 1st of 2013 to May 31th of 2013; we
will determine copro-antigen for HP through kit (Amplified IDEIATM HpStAR) (Chislom S of Journal of Medical
microbiology 2004). It is considered both of asymptomatic patients as symptomatic the age, sex, and family history of
parents and grandparents (history of gastritis and HP infection demonstrated, gastric cancer).
Results: In 22 patients, 11 (50%) were female and 11 males. Of the total, 3 were positive HPand haven suggestive
symptoms of infection representing the 14%. We registered 8 patients with symptoms of HP and 8 however the coproantigen
test was negative .
Conclusions: The infection of HP, in this sample, studied through copro-antigen was of the 14%. The frequency of
gastrointestinal manifestations morefrequently was theepigastricabdominal in 91%, followed by the periumbilical pain
with 73%.
