ABSTRACT
Medicine Schools are influenced by the multicultural context our society is currently reflecting. Nevertheless, cultural diversity in this setting still remains a challenge for professors, for curricula approach a national culture very distant from the cultural diversity imposed in our days. The curricula of Medical Sciences in Cuba have been designed precisely to homogenize culture considering national interests. Therefore, their relationship with multiculturalism is very distant. This analysis reflects the need for intercultural curricula as a necessary attribute being the acquisition of culturally appropriate skills by professors a key element to meet the demands of the new educational context. A proposal of invariants of multicultural skills for Medical Sciences careers in clinical course is presented as well as suggestions to professors in order to achieve students’ development. The objective of this research is to analyze the structure and social function of the curricula in Medical Sciences in relation to cultural diversity.
