ABSTRACT

Endometrial stromal tumors are rare and represent between 2 and 6% of all the uterine neoplasms. Within the tumors in this group, the Low Grade Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma (SEEBG) is the most common. In 1976 Clement and Scully described two subtypes of uterine tumors with ovarian type sex cord elements, one of them in endometrial stromal sarcomas (ESTSCLE). There have been reports informing the association with such tumors and previous treatment with Tamoxifen therapy, prolonged estrogenic stimuli and pelvic radiotherapy. We present the case of a rare variant of a Low grade endometrial stromal sarcoma with sex cord-like elements, previously treated with aromatase inhibitors (Anastrozole) and radiotherapy for breast carcinoma, reported for the first time in the literature.
