ABSTRACT
Objective: To evaluate the feasibility in terms of time to
implement a single record format and brief standardized
clinical assessment of motor function in patients with
Parkinson’s disease.
Methods: We included 204 patients
from three hospitals. The short Parkinson’s evaluation
scales, the clinical impression of the severity of Parkinson’s
disease and rapid scale disability evaluation were
applied.
Results: The mean time for application of the
clinical instruments was 15 ± 1.1 min. The correlation
between the instruments was acceptable and comparable
with international reports.
Conclusion: The structured
questionnaire and clinical assessment with the selected
instruments allow a full standarized assessment of patients
with PD within the time frame established for care in the
outpatient clinics of the participating institutions.
