ABSTRACT
Were synchronized thirty-nine sheep (19; Pelibuey (Pb) and 20; Pelibuey x Romanov (PbRv) with a synthetic progestin and low dose of eCG (140 and 280 IU), the effect of survival rate per ewe lambing, litter size and weight of ewe trated and lambing. It used a completely randomized design with 2 x 2 factorial arrangement to analyze the data. None response variable was affected (P›0.05) by interaction between study factors per dose x genotype main effect of eCG. The interaction of eCG dose x breed of sheep tended to affect litter size per ewe lambing at 30 d post-partum (P= 0.0755) survival rate per ewe lambing at 30 (P=0.0755) and 90 d (P=0.0794) post-partum. We conclude that both pure and cross Pelibuey show adequate production efficiency when subjected to estrus synchronization protocols with low-dose progestins and eCG. Therefore, it is recommended dose of 140 or 280 IU to reduce production costs of sheep farms.REFERENCES
