Characterization of Defense Preparedness Program in Health Technologists Students

ABSTRACT
Introduction: education depends largely on the progress of mankind and
constitutes one of the most powerful weapons to build the future. Prepare the
students for the defense contributes to the training of future professionals with
strong tools to solve everyday tasks and job performance.
Objective: to characterize the students' cognitive state of health technology in
relation to the use of resuscitation techniques taught in the course of Defense
Preparedness in the "Simon Bolivar" Technology of Pinar del Rio.
Material and Methods: a qualitative study in the field of education where
theoretical methods were used such as the logical and historical method and
analysis-synthesis. Within the empirical survey were used, the interview and
documentary review and observation activities. The universe consisted of all the
majors "Health Rehabilitation" sample coinciding with that universe.
Results: resuscitation techniques taught only have four hours for delivery and
therefore only three students (4.76%) at the end of 5th year of this career were
able to successfully demonstrate the knowledge acquired. 100% of students
surveyed felt the concentrate as inefficient organizational form.
Conclusions: Defense Preparedness subject and especially the delivery of content
"Resuscitation Techniques" does not have the amount of hours needed and way of
teaching organization is not adequate.
