ABSTRACT
Background: primary gonarthrosis is one of the diseases that demand the increasing attention of the medical staff at every health level. That is the reason why the application of scales allow knowing the effectiveness of different therapeutics was required.
Objective: to validate the clinical scale proposed by authors.
Method: Delphi method was applied for the scale validation. Seventeen experts participated in the investigation, 14 specialists in orthopedics and traumatology, a rheumatologist, and two rehabilitators. The average years of experts’ professional experience were about 18, 3. One of the consulted professionals was a PhD in Science, 12 of them were Masters of Sciences, six were Second Degree Specialists, two were Full Professors, and four were Assistant Professors. Experts were consulted regarding design, feasibility, and appropriateness of the scale for patients with primary gonarthrosis.
Results: values corresponding to the absolute frequency matrix, to the accumulated frequency matrix, to the accumulated relative frequency matrix, and to the cut-off points indicative matrix, were shown.
Conclusions: the scale proposed is simple, applicable, and easily to reproduce; besides, it is based on the most significant aspects found in patients with primary gonarthrosis.
