ABSTRACT
Introduction: The cubital artery aneurysms are one of the most common causes of digital ischemia.
Case report: Female 81 years old with pulsating mass in the right forearm, slow and progressive
growing, pain and paresthesia in the fifth finger. A physical exploration showed a pulsating mass of
4 cm in diameter, unpainful, with arterial integrity. Arteriogram of the right arm showed: an aneu
rysmatic expansion of approximately 4 x 3 cm in the cubital artery proximal to its origin, with paten
cy in the radial artery. A resection of the cubital aneurysmal with interposition of a great safenous
graft was performed. Atherosclerotic and proximal cubital artery aneurysm are extremely rare, the
exact incidence is unknown. Therefore it represent a cause of ischemia in the arterial digital tree se
condary to small embolus, hence his vital importance for the diagnosis and treatment.
