ABSTRACT
The Middle aortic syndrome is a rare entity characterized by localized stenosis of the aorta in the lower thoracic and upper abdominal segment, with involvement of renal arteries in most cases. This entity was first described in 1847 by Quain, as a syndrome similar to Takayasu's arteritis. The natural history of the disease produces progressive target organ damage if the appropriate surgical treatment is not applied, the aortic bypass graft with reconstruction of visceral arteries when they are involved remains the treatment of choice, although endovascular therapy, appears to offer promisingresults. We present the case, treatment and evolution of a 28 year old mate patient with Middle Aortic Syndrome.REFERENCES
