ABSTRACT
Introduction. Müllerian malformations of female genitalia represent a real challenge for the gynecologist, and a strong emotional
and psychological impact for the patient. The treatment in those patients who have a vaginal agenesis in Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-
Hauser focuses on the surgical treatment, since the goal in these patients is to create a vagina adequate for a normal sexual life, at
present laparoscopic surgery is recommended first-line success with her getting up to 90%. However, the high cost of material to
carry out such surgery remains a problem for patients.
Material and methods. Neovagina was performed by pulling and use of
laparoscopic balloon expander to 5 patients.
Results. Vaginal elongation was achieved 10 to 12 cm in length and 4 to 6 cm in
diameter at an average of 10 days, the minimally invasive technique is performed to the abdominal cavity and most importantly,
the neovagina tissue is 100% vaginal mucosa.
Conclusion. The described technique offers advantages over existing techniques
in cost recovery.
