ABSTRACT
Introduction. The disease that causes instability of the lumbar spine increasingly major cause of disability and socioeconomic
problem.
Objetive. Assess the usefulness of a new traspedicular system Venus of the Human Tech Company (Germany) in
patients whit the diagnosis of instability lumbosacral spin in the Hospital Juárez de México to be used later in other Latin American
countries.
Material and methods. We evaluated the results of the use the transpedicular fixation system Venus in 15 patients whit
lumbosacral spinal instability over a period of 16 months in concluding the research project, 6 patients whit spondylolsthesis L4-
L5, L5-S1; 4 patients whit disk herniation L4-L5, L5-S1; 4 patients whit vertebral instability postsurgical by lumbar stenosis
syndrome degenerative type, 1 patient whit posttraumatic vertebral fracture T12-L1 whit an age range of 25 to 55 years.
Results.
This is the conclusion of a research work carried in the Hospital Juárez de México whit a new transpedicular fixation system where
we had two cases of rupture of the transpedicular screw in sacral level, the rest of the patients same whit out complications to
posterolateral fusion.
Conclusions. Currently there are a countless of transpedicular system for treatment of vertebral instability,
this system offers a high biomechanical stability, high resistance whit a simple and safe assembly and is made from a biocompatible
material tested.
