Vitiligo. New ways of treatment.

ABSTRACT

Vitiligo, a common idiopathic acquired depigmentation disorder, occurs mostly among young people. Although the cause is unknown, various theories such as the autoimmune, autocytotoxic, and neural hypotheses have been proposed. Presently, there is no universally effective medical or surgical modality for vitiligo therapy. Nonsurgical repigmentation therapies represent the first-line active treatment modality in vitiligo. There are various forms of treatment and in every patient more than one treatment modality should be tried before the disease is considered resistant to therapy.
