ABSTRACT
Meckel’s diverticulum’s incidence is of 2% in the general population. First described by Fabricio Hildanus in 1598, it is the most
frequent congenital alteration of the digestive tract, as well as the first cause of small bowel hemorrhage in patients under 30 years
old. In adults, its most frequent form of presentation is intestinal obstruction.
