ABSTRACT

The absence of an experimental model by Actinomadura madurae infections led us to reproduce the reported conditions using Nocardia. In consequence we infected CFW, CD1 and Balb/c mice in footpad with ATCC 19425 and GIIAP-1 Actinomadura madurae strains emulsified with incomplete Freund adjuvant. Weekly the diameters of foopads were measured. The histologic analysis by H-E stain and the search of bacteria by Brown-Brenn technique were done at these samples. Our results demonstrate the presence of the infection in muscular tissues only in Balb/c mice, however the inflammatory response was absent, this findings suggest us that this bacteria can induce temporary anergic response in infected host.
