ABSTRACT

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors were initially described by Mazur and Clark in 1983. This is a rare but well documented disease of the gastrointestinal tract. They are associated with nonspecific symptoms, and most of them are diagnosed by the development of complications like upper gastrointestinal bleeding. We present a case of a 40 year old male who presents with upper gastrointestinal bleeding, after enteroscopy that showed a tumor located in the proximal jejunum patient underwent to surgical treatment for control, with pathological report of gastrointestinal stromal tumor of the jejunum at 15 cm of Trietz angle.
