ABSTRACT
Eosinophilic fasciitis-panniculitis is a rare connective tissue disorder characterized clinically by swelling, hardening and thickening of the fascia, hypodermis and skin. Histologically a thickening of the fascia with chronic inflammatory eosinophils infiltration is observed with pain and symptoms of peripheral neuropathic affectation. The disease is classified in the spectrum morphea/systemic sclerosis, and develops slowly and has a poor response to treatment with corticoids. The objective of this study is to demonstrate the immediate clinical improvement of compressive intracompartmental and neuropathologic symptoms on the upper limb with the use of early fasciotomy.
