Burnout syndrome in Nariño University students

ABSTRACT
Burnout syndrome in university students is a psycho syndrome that ocurrs in who does not adapt to stressful events specific to the educational environment. Therefore, this cross-sectional descriptive study aimed to identify sociodemographic, academic-related psychological manifestations of burnout syndrome in undergraduate students at the University of Nariño, Pasto headquartes. The sample of 438 undergraduate students, who applied the Maslach Burnout Inventory Scale Student Survey (MBI-SS) and for the Stadistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS 13.0) was obtained that 15.5% of students Bournout present sample, 18.7% report emotional exhaustion, 14.4% and 0.2% cynical academic self-efficacy. Furthermore, the technique T student was the male gender, belonging to the urban area and study in the daytime associated the onset of the burnout syndrome academic selfefficacy component, the time component is also associated with emotional exhaustion. The study concluded that the presence of burnout syndrome in university students allows detection of symptomatic levels and constitute an indicator of possible future difficulties in the educational and professional.
