ABSTRACT
Hospital outbreaks by
B. cepacia are common in immunocompromised
patients. This requires early vigilance for this pathogen in
the hospitals and the need to understand its intrinsic and extrinsic
characteristics in order to enable its early detection and to apply
immediate control measures for this pathogen. We present two
cases of bacteremia
B. cepacia seen in the Oncology Department.
We concluded that a contact transmitted outbreak was highly
suspicious.
