The Cervix Intraepithelial Neoplasia Behavior in Antilla Polyclinic of Holguín

ABSTRACT
Background: In Cuba cervix cancer represents 10% of all types of cancer, being the second cause of the disease. Objectives: To determine the cervix intraepithelial neoplasm behavior in Antilla municipality. Methods: A descriptive of series of cases study was performed from January to December 2010. The universe comprised 150 patients attended at Cervix Pathology consultation, 46 women represented the sample selected by simple random method. The information was collected from the cytology cards and the individual clinical histories. Results: The intraepithelial cervix cancer was Correo Científico Médico ISSN 1560-4381 2012; 16 (4) the most frequent with 27 cases (58.7%). The age group between 30 and 34 years was the most affected one (11 patients representing 23.9%). The highest incidence was represented by those women with normal menarche with 36 cases (78.2%). 42 patients (91.4%) had early sexual intercourse. Conclusions: The cervix intraepithelial neoplasia behavior in women older than 30 years was similar to the rest of the country and others around the world, being the precocious sexual intercourse the main risk factor of the disease.REFERENCES
