Preventing necrotizing enterocolitis with enteral nutrition support in preterm neonates

ABSTRACT
Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NE) is one of the main and most common diseases affecting the gastro- intestinal tract of the preterm
neonate, which can have an impact on the patient´s nutritional state and development. Enteral nutrition plays an important role
in the outcome of this disease, which is why many studies have been conducted in regards of the type of formula, moment of
initiation, progression and addition of new components. This article presents a revision and discussion of guidelines regarding
these techniques, benefits and complications
