ABSTRACT
Introduction: Were compared the resting heart rate (FC) and the resting arterial pressure (AP) of Mexican groups of the high-performance sport, as of meaningful differences of the maximum oxygen uptake ( .VO
2max) related to the total body mass ( .VO2maxRel). Methods: The volunteers (N = 69) were untrained (UNT = 12), and sportsmen (n = 57): KRS(n = 36) = karate-do + rowers + soccer) and, MFM(n = 21) = middle fond (athletes of 800 and 1500 dash m + 5000 and 10000 dash m + walkers of 20 km and 50 km) + marathon. The heart rate was measured by auscultation and the arterial pressure with sphygmomanometer. We applied a maximum effort test on cycle-ergometer of ergo-spirometry with direct measurement of .VO2 at 2240 m of altitude. Results: UNT and KRS > MFM in both heart rates (63 ± 1 and 61 ± 2 /8250; 53 ± 3, beats·min-1, respectively) and .VO2maxRel (38 ± 3 and 46 ± 1 > 56 ± 3, mL·kg-1·min-1, respectively). Discussion: These differences of heart rate of the rest and of .VO2maxRel, are explained by different degrees of appropriateness sport-physical endurance, existing between groups. Conclusions: It is conclude, that it is possible to distinguish sport groups with different degree of appropriateness central endurance (FC) and peripheral endurance ( .VO2maxRel).
