ABSTRACT
In the laparoscopy surgery is required the insuflation for a suitable exhibition, visualization and manipulation of the abdominal content. The gas that is used more for this aim is carbon dioxide (capnoperitoneum). The introduction of needles and trocars for the formation of the capnoperitoneum and the maintenance of an intra-abdominal pressure (PIA) elevated, is fundamental elements in the presentation of transoperatory potential complications. More frequent complications are cardiovascular like arrhythmias, hypertension, gaseous embolism, cardiac arrest, etc, and/or respiratory like hypercarbia, hypoxaemia, capnothorax, acidosis, etc, mainly. Exists less well-known others like subcutaneous emphysema, neuropathy, escapular pain, hypothermia, etc, also been knowed.
