ABSTRACT
The present research paper deals with human virtues, strengths and values of students and teachers at the Catholic University of Santa Fe (Universidad Católica de Santa Fe). This institution pays special attention to support and pass on the importance of human values. Taking into account this institutional characteristic, the study of this constructs in human resources were consider of as main issues. In the field of psychology, both Positive Psychology and Social Psychology have crossovers in the study of values, strengths and virtues; therefore this work is addressed from a perspective that includes both branches. Selfaccess instruments are used to entry data; virtues and strength are assess through the Mental Capital Scale (Casullo, 2006) and human values through the Schwartz Portrait Values Questionnaire in its Argentinean version by Casullo (2002). This work attempts to establish differences and similarities between the two groups of observation, relating the results with data obtained in previous research. The results of this study show that students and teachers of the Catholic University of Santa Fe scored Mental Capital Scale and the Portrait Values Questionnaire similar to previous studies by age and educational level. One could infer that both years lived as the amount of accumulated knowledge can enhance not only mental capital but also human values. It is hoped that the dissemination of this work will contribute to increase the number of university teachers begin to feel interest in reconceptualizing their work from the perspective of human values and strengths.
