ABSTRACT
Gynecologic area dermatoses, are by now an important and significant group of conditions that are seen very frequently by dermatologists. The opportune and correct diagnosis and treatment of the gynecologic area dermatoses requires modification of some dermatologic principles, and instruction to the physician as well as to the patients. The vulvar dermatoses have particular characteristics (about morphology), so they are a special group of conditions. The most frequent dermatoses are infections, atopic dermatitis and lichen sclerosus et atrophicus. Vulvar dermatoses are multifactorial, even more than any other cutaneous condition in any part of the body. Mistakes at the moment of making semiology or thinking in alternative diagnostics, are common faults when evaluating this patients. It is very important to mention some common normal anatomic variants of the vulvar area, as well as the most common symptoms and some of the proposed classifications for this entities.
