ABSTRACT
Violence at work is manifested in several forms such as mobbing, physical and psychological aggression. Researches warn that health workers are victims of 25 % of the acts of violence at work. In Argentina, the phenomenon has been little investigated, so this study aims to determine the presence of violence situations at work that health workers are exposed. The study is exploratory and cross-sectional. The sample was randomly selected; a survey was administered to 336 workers. 62,9 % of the respondents recognize the presence of violent situations in their workplace. The aggressive agents most frequently recognized were relatives (83,9 %) and patients (73,6 %). Screams (65,1 %) and insults (55,1 %) were the most common forms of manifestation. We conclude that workers recognize the presence of violence manifestations in the health institutions studied and expressions of psychological violence are the most frequent.
