Agenesis of gland thyroid. A case report

ABSTRACT
The congenital hypothyroidism should be considered like an endocrinology urgency since can have serious sequels as irreversible psychomotor delay. Its frequency in Mexico is of 3.9 cases each 10,000 newborn.
Case report: The case of an infant is described that enter to the month of age with classic simptomatology for secondary deficiency of thyroid hormones because a thyroid gland agenesis. The diagnosis you bases on the realization of thyroid gammagram with total absence of thyroid gland which responded favorably to the substitute hormonal therapy. The patient required support ventilation for eight days.
Conclusion: The opportune diagnosis and the important of tamiz metabolic contributes to give a specific treatment avoid damage in the intellectual coefficient mainly in patient with thyroid gland agenesis.
