ABSTRACT
Clear cell adenocarcinoma (CCC) of the gallbladder, is an inusual type of carcinoma with predominance of cells with glycogen rich cytoplasm that can be associated with a fetal-protein production. Since its original description in 1986 there has been less than 20 cases described. a fetal-protein production has been widely described in various gastrointestinal and germ cell tumors, highlighting hepatocarcinoma and yolk sack tumors. In the gallbladder it has been identified in papillary, clear cell and poorly differentiated carcinomas. It is important to acknowledge that gallbladder carcinomas can be associated with the production of this marker and thus this entity can be considered within the differential diagnosis of other neoplasms. We present a case of CCC, in a 76 year-old female studied at Hospital General de México.
