ABSTRACT
Retroperitoneal tumours represent from 0.3% to 0.8% of all the neoplasms, most of them are of mesenchimal origin and malignant. Its diagnosis is difficult and generally is done when the neoplasm is big. There are only few papers of these tumours published. This paper is to know the frequency and kind of these neoplasms in autopsy material from de Hospital General de México. We reviewed five years of autopsies performed at this hospital, 12 tumours were found. The frequency and histological type of the tumours are similar than those from other series.
