Labor Satisfaction in the Oncology Hospital of the Social Security Mexican Institute’s National Medical Center Century XXI

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The Job Satisfaction is a positive attitude towards the performance in the work, is an indicator of wellbeing and life quality; to identify its degrees in the nursing staff of an oncology hospital was the objective of this study.Methodology: Descriptive and cross-sectional study, based on a survey Scale General of Satisfaction- Overall Job Satisfaction, developing by Warr, Cook and Wall, 1979. Population of 230 nurses.
Results: The degree of Job satisfaction on extrinsic factors was an mean of 37,3 (66,6%) according to Overall Job Satisfaction; the nurses feel indifference and are something satisfied. The degree of labor satisfaction on intrinsic factors was an mean of 32,5 (66,3%); the nurses feel indifference. The degree of general job satisfaction of the nursing personnel was an mean of 69,8 (66,4%), are in a level of indifference and little satisfied.
Discussion: The nurses feel indifferent and/or little satisfied, which agrees with a national research; nevertheless, the majority of the studies refers a moderate degree of satisfaction or moderately satisfied.
Conclusions: The nurses’ indifference can to have repercussion on in the users attention. It is recommended to realize studies on the dissatisfaction factors and that the managers stimulate their personnel.
