ABSTRACT
This Continuing Medical Education Section is build up by five articles about Pediatrics. In the first article the historical aspects of the bacterium, its pathogenic factors, and the host related factors are exposed, besides the characteristics signs and symptoms, and the extragastric clinical manifestations, the value of diagnosis and the difficult treatment. In the second article the H. pylori children infection, the value of dental plaque and a useful test for epidemiologic studies and easy confirmation of the bacterium eradication with treatment are described. In the number three article Mota Hernandez MD expose the rice solution for patient rehydration in every kind of diarrhea and high fecal output, with at least four hours of WHO formulation treatment. The fourth article refers the rice atole for lessen the high fecal output in infants under six months old, previously not considered viable in this period of life. In the last article the affection and death by severe diarrhea in Mexican children are presented, in retrospective and prospective fashion the morbility and epidemiologic surveillance in mortality by diarrhea episodes (1990-2000) in under five years old children The general diffusion of these subject was the purpose of this article, and for establish the role of Rotavirus as etiologic factor in severe diarrhea in Mexico, and the possible vaccine against this bacterium for to be included in the National Card of Vaccination.
