The age of female reproduction has been increased in last decades until in 4%, due to the expectative of current life and the social changes; however, this represents a bigger risk of complications for the woman and her fetus. The complications of the pregnancy include fetal loss, chromosomal disorders, preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. Also, the intra-uterine environment in the fetal life has important implications in the adult endocrine physiology, to what has been called as “epigenetic factor” that induces the programming of the organs function and predisposes each individual to suffer diverse chronic illnesses. Essence of the reproduction is the appropriate transmission of the genetic load in a germinal cell toward the following generation, thus any alteration in the different stages of a gestation represents a risk for the woman and her fetus.
