ABSTRACT
With an animated manikin and a multimedia program it is possible to acquire knowledge and skills enough to assess and treat a variety of clinical situations in cardiology. Since 1968 the University of Miami School of Medicine had been using a cardiology patient simulator called Harvey, with high acceptance rate by paramedics, medical students, attendings, residents and nurses. This manikin is programmed to simulate 27 cardiological situations, which are the minimum necessary for a senior medical student during his/her training in cardiology.
