ABSTRACT
The Status Epilepticus is a real medical emergency that as sooner it improves, the prognosis will be better. Historically, the SE has been defined as 30 minutes of continuous seizure activity or sequential seizures without return to normal mental baseline. Nowdays the SE’s treatment is based in the concept that a prolonged seizure lasting more than 5 minutes had already initiated neurological injuries.
