ABSTRACT
In spite of the quality of medical and surgical handling which can be carried out in diabetic neurophatic patients with serious injuries in their feet, the delay from the beginning of an effective treatment for these patients, or because of the failure of the most conservative surgical operations, from time to time to resort to this secondary surgical processing, that in most of the cases, the only choice left is a vast amputation, necessary to cut off bigger areas of the affected lower member, aiming at saving lives and trying to offer them the best possibilities of rehabilitation. Plastic infracondileal amputation is an invaluable resource on for these patients, especially when it is put into effect in such a way that an early accommodation of a prosthesis can be possible. An effective varying to the classical technique of infracondileal amputation is proposed, to help patients to rehabilitate in a faster and effective way.
