Fase inflamatoria en el paciente quemado

RESUMEN
Después de una quemadura se activan una serie de fenómenos tendientes a mantener el equilibrio interno y a reparar la zona dañada. Esta respuesta resulta ser adecuada en lesiones no extensas. En pacientes que previamente se encontraban debilitados por alguna enfermedad y en quemaduras extensas, esta respuesta no sólo resulta ser insuficiente, sino que se vuelve en contra del mismo organismo, incrementando el daño local e incluso ocasionándolo en órganos distantes como el pulmón, riñones e hígado.
