ABSTRACT
The celiac disease is syndrome of malabsorption characterized by intolerance fo gluten proteins in subjects with genetic predisposition with the HLA-DQ2/DQ8 alleles. Its cause is multifactor and the dietetic, environmental and genetic factors have a great significance in its appearance. The early diagnosis allows the prevention of complications including osteopenia, malignant diseases and infertility. The aim of present paper was to collect updated information on the genetic base of this disease and its role in the diagnosis.
