ABSTRACT
Nowadays it´s unknown the dental mass values of deciduous dentition and differences between sexes of mexican population.Main: To quantify mass dental volume of deciduous dentition of healthy population for each sex.
Material and methods: In a survey cross sectional, descriptive, prolective, multicentric, heterodemic, was analyzed a sample of 82 sets of models with complete dental arch with deciduous dentition free of cavities of a healthy child population of mexican males and females inhabitants of Puebla´s valley. Were measured mesiodistal widths of all dental organs of both arches at the height of the contact zone, with a digital caliper (correlation ‹0.05), whereas 0.09% of plaster´s contraction.
Results: Were obtained means and confidents intervals averaging at 95% for each deciduous dental organ and gender differences were statistically significant T student (p≤ 0.05) that exist in upper and lower lateral incisor central incisor, canine and first lower molar of mexican child population.
Conclusion: The dental mass show constant dimensions in most of the deciduous teeth; however exist differences between sexes. Mexican girls have more dental mass and require more arch length.
