ABSTRACT
Prevention, control and treatment of cervical cancer is one of the priorities of our country, as it is one of the most common neoplasms among women in recent decades. Cervical cytology is a screening test used for early detection of cervical cancer, nevertheless the procedure is not free of errors, and it is reflected in a large number of non-useful cytology, which are mainly related to failures in sampling and sampling preparation as well as its interpretation; either the negative or the positive false diagnoses adversely affect women because they are given another appointment to repeat the cervical cytology, yet the statistics show that this only happens in less than 50% of the cases, therefore a high number of women still remain with an incorrect diagnosis which can bring them significant health consequences in the long, medium or short term. For all these reasons mentioned above, the aim of this paper work is to show in a concrete form the main causes that contribute to the presence of no-useful cytology.
