ABSTRACT
The pediatric hospitals carry out the determinations of cholesterol and triglycerides daily for being important analytes related with endocrine, nephrologics and nutritional dysfunctions, their repercussion in cardiovascular dysfunctions in the next future. Therefore to define the reference intervals of these analytes in children, it is of great interest clinical to achieve an early detection of the illness, as well as to maintain the prevention and the monitoring of the therapy. The objective of this work was to determine in pediatric population the reference values of cholesterol and triglycerides for sex and different groups of ages. With the obtained data it was carried out the non parametric statistical study and the reference values were settled down for the cholesterol from 2,6 to 5,16 mmol/L and for triglycerides from 0,49 to 1.49 mmol/L, inferior to the clinical cut value established for these analyte.
