ABSTRACT

A study of educational intervention was carried out in the office No. 104 from University clinic "Belkys Alvarez Sotomayor" in Ciego de Avila, during May 2011 with adolescents from this office. From a total of 76 classified teenagers at the family record, attended 62, which constituted the sample universe. Four meetings are conducted with the implementation of a survey in the first of them , an educational activity in the second and in the third a survey was applied for the second time. The results to teens were given in the fourth meeting and it is conductive a discussion between them and the health personnel. There is no predominance of sex, 9.6% of young people who formed the universe did not study nor work. The most popular contraceptive method was condom, followed by oral contraceptive pills and intrauterine devices. 48.3% of teens believe that the optimal age of initiation of sexual intercourse is between 18-20 years and more than half consider abortion as contraception. The educational activity has contributed to the improvement of knowledge about sexual education that were used in the survey.
