Paracoccidioidomicosis en la lengua

ABSTRACT

Paracoccidioidomycosis is a fungical disease, caused by a dimorphic fungus, Paracoccidioides brasiliensis. Its real frequency is unknown because of the subclinic cases that occur. It affects any person,indistintic of their sex, age or ethnic, with predominance in men between ages of 30-50 years y who are dedicated to agricolar labors. (with a relation 9:1 male-female) This disease develops in an acute, subacute or chronic way affecting any organ of the body, with great affinity to skin, oral-nasal cavity and others. The diagnostic is based in pathologic and clinical exclusion. Treatment is based on antifungicals, nutritional support, eventual sequelae and the prevention of opportunist diseases. In this article we present a 70 years old man case, with no subjacent sickness and no allergies to medications, with an ulcerous lesion on tongue´s base with no symptoms added.
