ABSTRACT
Penile cancer occurs mostly in men over 60 years, rarely occur before age 40. Clinically the most common lesion is an ulcer on the glans. Around 58% of patients initially have palpable lymphadenopathy. The exact cause is unknown, but has shown a direct relation with infection by high risk Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), especially type 16. Other risk factors include phimosis and poor hygiene. On the other hand, neonatal circumcision is associated with a decreased risk. The diagnosis is made by physical examination and confirmation by biopsy. Treatment depends on the site and extent of primary tumor and inguinal metastases.
